Veterans and their families have sacrificed much to protect our nation. They deserve our appreciation and, when they need it, our compassionate care. Comfort Health is committed to helping qualified wartime veterans access home health benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Any veteran who meets the program criteria may be eligible for services, regardless of age.
These programs can be complicated and confusing. Comfort Health has a Veterans Home Care Benefit Coordinator ready to answer your questions and help you get the homecare benefits that you’ve earned. Below are some of the common services veterans receive.
Whether part of a daily or weekly routine, or while recovering after a hospital stay or illness, veterans may find that they could use an extra hand for some of life’s daily tasks. Our dedicated caregivers provide a range of services from light housekeeping or meal preparation to personal care like bathing and dressing.
Managing your medications, recovering from a fall or requiring assistance with wound care can be stressful. Comfort Health’s team of nurses are standing ready to assist with these services and more. Our team of nurses and therapists work together to develop a care plan to address your individual needs and goals. In-home therapy services such as physical, occupational, or speech therapy are safe and effective and allow the veteran more time in the comfort of their home.
In-home care isn’t just for the benefit of veterans; it provides family caregivers with valuable self-care time and peace of mind knowing their loved one is in capable hands. These visits are up to a 6-hour block of time, and approved veterans can receive up to 30 visits per year. Respite care can be used in combination with other home and community-based services.
If you experience an injury, illness, or surgery, sometimes your physician will order therapy to help you regain your independence or learn strategies to work with ongoing challenges. We offer an extensive range of in-home therapies including physical, occupational, and speech, so you can get the aid you need comfortably and conveniently.
If you or your loved one is a veteran interested in finding the best in-home care, please reach out to our expert VA coordinator.
